Ingredients:
6 baking apples, cored (about 3 pounds)
1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar, divided
1/4 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons margarine or butter softened
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Pastry for 2-crust 9-inch pie
1/2 cup water 

Directions:
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place apples in 13x9-inch baking pan. Mix 1/2 cup of the sugar, nuts, margarine and cinnamon in medium bowl. Spoon into each apple. Roll 1/2 of the pastry to 1/8 thickness, Cut into 3(7-inch)squares. Wrap each apples with pastry square:pinch edges to seal. Heat remaining 1 cup of sugar and water in samll saucepan on medium heat until sugar dissolves. Pour over dumplings. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally with sugar syrup.
