Title: Apple Filling
Category: Apple
Yield: 9" cake
Ingredients:
3 large tart raw apples, grated
juice of 1 lemon
dash of salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
Directions:
Peel apples and remove seeds. Place apples in food processor on "grate" speed. Mix all ingredients well along with the grated apples. Cook in a double boiler until thick. Cool and spread between white or spice cake layers.
Serving Suggestions: Can also be used on muffins. Place 2 Tbs. of apple filling in the middle of the batter before baking.
