Title: Southern Corn Bread

Ingredients:
1&1/2 Cups scalded Milk
1&1/2cups white cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
2&1/2 teaspoons baking power
1 egg beaten.
Directions:
mix milk and meal and stir in salt and shortening. add baking powder and egg yolk.
mix well. fold in stiffly beaten egg white. sprinkle with bacon pieces before baking. bake in 400 degree over 20 minutes.
